The Red Spacer KA-BAR is arguably the most collectible KA-BAR Knife made during World War II. The distinct red spacer below the hand guard and above the leather washer has caught the eye of collectors for decades. Though originals are rare and expensive, KA-BAR’s State & Union shop has made a small batch of this iconic knife with the Dog's Head blade mark. The leather washers are shaped by hand and dyed to create an aged appearance. The pommel is ground down to replicate the dimensions of the original. Each red spacer is hand made to be slightly longer than the current spacer used on KA-BAR Fighting/Utility Knives. The blade has a worn blued finish. The sheath undergoes an ageing process to darken the leather and match the original sheath color.

The knife quality is exceptional and arrived hair popping sharp. Bravo! However, the sheath not so much. The leather on the welt is not even, it is not glued, and it is not burnished nor does it have any edge treatment. It looks like a novice kit sheath. Pretty mediocre in my opinion and a disappointment. I was expecting higher quality for the price.

I absolutely love my Red Spacer. As a Marine veteran I will always love my KA-BARs. Have been wanting a red spacer for a long time and the knife does not disappoint. It's perfectly balanced and feels great in my hands. Blade is sharp and smooth, and the finish is great. That being said the Sheath is lame, sloppy leather ply held together with strings and staples, doesn't look good at all. Bought a tactical sheath for it but the hand guard is longer on the Red Spacer and will not fit. Gonna get a custom sheath made. Other then that, fantastic buy.

Love my KABAR Dog's Head. It is SHARP and feels great in my hand. I've been wanting a KABAR knife for a long time and I am not disappointed with my choice.
Thanks KABAR for making such a great knife!!!
