KA-BAR teamed up with Mike Snody, custom knife maker, to produce factory knives that honor the looks and finish of Mike's custom-made pieces.
The Big Boss amps up the classic Snody Boss knife by almost two inches overall and has been decked out with premium S35VN steel and lots of accessories. Each knife comes with two sets of textured handles--a blue "Reptile" version is mounted to the knives and a purple "Dolla Holla" version highlights Snody's stylized "S" logo and is included in the package. We've also thrown in a custom-designed Schmuckatelli Co. bead and a semi-custom high-quality leather sheath.

Unreal knife. I've purchased multiple KaBar knives before but this thing is extremely sharp. I use it in the kitchen and for grilling and BBQ outside. Stainless steel bad a&& life. I even bought a second one. Down side is the scales. The purple ones they send are dope, if you want to try to get the original blue ones off. I tried a bit but it's easy to strip the screws. Seems like they used some Locktite to keep them on. Which is a bummer. I'd love to change to the purple.

The Big Boss KA-BAR is absolutely outstanding in design and quality, a must have in the field or every day carry. Very sharp from the box, and extras included. You can't get a better steel so in this martial artists book, it's the best. Thank you Ka-bar..

Bought this knife shortly after it was introduced. Really didn't need another knife but I loved the look of the Big Boss. I have used it for just about everything from camping, gardening, yard work, and prepping food. I have not exactly babied the knife and it has held up extremely well. The blade holds an edge better than most of my knives and sharpens up nicely. Aside from a few scuff marks on the handle it looks almost new. While I appreciate the versatility of the sheath's mounting system I would prefer a simple belt loop instead.

THE BLADE DESIGN IS SIMPLE AND USABLE, THE BLADE FACES ON MY UNIT WAS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT FROM EACH OTHER. NOT A MAJOR ISSUE BUT YOU CAN SEE IT. THE HANDLE IS SOMEWHAT SLIPPERY AND THE SCALES SHIFT UNDER LIGHT PRESSURE. THE EDGE IS SHARP (BURR) BUT DULLS EASILY, THE BEVEL MAYBE BE SLIGHTLY LESS THEN 20 DEGREE NEAR THE TIP.

The Ka-bar Snody Big Boss is an absolutely amazing knife, extremely sharp from the box and extras included. Fantastic steel, and a great design. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
